Senior Friendship Health Center
Mission Statement: Providing for the medical and dental needs of underserved seniors.
Senior Friendship Health Center sees patients 50 and older with more than 2,000 annual visits. In addition to the change in age eligibility the upper income limit has also increased to 300% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines to encompass all those individuals who became underinsured or uninsured due to the 2008 economic downturn. These shifts in eligibility served to ensure coverage to the older adult population, as a safety net to the community.
The Senior Friendship Health Center’s medical and dental volunteers provide its foundation. Physicians, dentists, nurses, clinical and clerical teams are all comprised of volunteers who assist in the provision of care for more than 2,000 annual visits. Volunteers are oriented and are incorporated in every part of the Center operations.
