NAMI Lee County is an affiliate of the Florida and National Alliance on Mental Illness, the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illnesses. NAMI strives to provide access to services, treatment, support and research and is steadfast in its commitment to raise awareness and build a community of hope for all of those in need. NAMI Lee County, Inc. provides free education and support programs to all individuals who suffer from mental disorders and their families, and friends. The educational programs that are currently available are: NAMI Basics--designed for family members and individuals who have been recently diagnosed. NAMI Family-to-Family--designed for family members to give them current information regarding studies, treatment, coping skills and self care. NAMI Peer-to-Peer--designed for individuals suffering from mental illness who would like to volunteer as a support group facilitator. We also provide support groups: Family-to-Family--Designed for family members. Connections--Designed for individuals with mental illness on the road to recovery. One Person, Two Problems--Designed for individuals with a dual diagnosis (mental illness and substance abuse).
